Benefits under PMMVY
🍼 For First Child (₹5,000 + JSY Incentive)
Women are entitled to receive ₹5,000/- in two instalments under PMMVY for the first living child, followed by an additional incentive under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) post institutional delivery (typically ₹1,000), making it a total of ₹6,000 on average.

Note: In case of miscarriage or stillbirth, the woman is eligible again in future pregnancies as a fresh beneficiary.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for PMMVY, the beneficiary must meet the following criteria:
- Pregnant or lactating woman, aged 19 years or above.
- Employed women experiencing wage-loss due to pregnancy.
- The scheme applies to the first live child.
- In case of second child, only if the child is a girl.
- Application should be made within 270 days from childbirth.
- In case of twins or triplets during second pregnancy (with at least one girl), benefit for second girl child will be applicable.
Socially & Economically Disadvantaged Categories Covered
PMMVY covers women from the following categories:
- Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Women with 40% or more disability (Divyang Jan)
- BPL Ration Card holders
- PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat) beneficiaries
- e-Shram card holders
- Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiary women farmers
- MGNREGA Job Card holders
- Families with annual income below ₹8 lakh
- Pregnant and Lactating AWWs, AWHs, ASHAs
- Ration Card holders under NFSA, 2013
- Other categories as notified by the Central Government
❌ Who is Excluded?
- Women in regular employment with Central/State Government or Public Sector Undertakings.
- Women receiving similar maternity benefits under any other law.
- Husband’s Aadhaar is not mandatory to avail benefits under PMMVY.
How to Apply for PMMVY
- Visit the official website of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
- Click on the “Citizen Login” tab.
- Enter your mobile number, verify via OTP, and fill basic details (Name, State, District, Village, etc.).
- After account creation, log in using the User ID, Password, and Captcha.
- Click on “Data Entry” → “Beneficiary Registration”.
- Fill all personal details and choose the scheme (First Child or Second Child).
- Upload necessary documents and click “Submit”.
A Mobile App is also available for registration under PMMVY.
