SIR is a process that must be completed before every election, but it has been several years since the last SIR Enumeration took place.

What is SIR?
SIR stands for Special Intensive Revision. It is a process initiated by the Election Commission of India to:
- Prevent electors from being registered in more than one location
- Remove deceased voters
- Remove non-eligible citizens from the electoral roll
Every elector is required to complete the SIR process. You can complete it using the offline form distributed by the area BLO at your doorstep, or you may choose to submit the SIR Enumeration Form online.
SIR Enumeration Form Requirements
To submit the SIR Enumeration Form online, the elector should have the following:
- Your mobile number should be linked with your Voter ID (If the mobile number is not updated, it can be done by submitting Form 8.)
- The name on your Voter ID should match the name on your Aadhaar
- Aadhaar should be linked with your mobile number
- You should have details of the last SIR, such as your mother’s, father’s, grandfather’s, or grandmother’s name.
These details can be searched online using the Search Your Name in Last SIR feature.
Steps to Fill the SIR Enumeration Form Online
Before filling out the SIR Enumeration Form, you must search for your father’s, mother’s, grandfather’s, or grandmother’s details in the last SIR.
Visit the website https://voters.eci.gov.in/
On the homepage, click on Search Your Name in Last SIR
This will open the page: SIR 2026 – Search Your Name in Last SIR E-Roll
You can search using:
- Search in Last SIR E-Roll, or
- Search by Elector Details
If you choose Search in Last SIR E-Roll, you must select:
- State
- District
- Assembly Constituency
- Polling Station Number and Name
Then click View
If you choose Search by Elector Details, you must enter:
- State
- District
- Assembly Constituency
- Polling Station No. and Name
- Section No. and Name
- Part Serial No.
- Elector’s Full Name in Last SIR
- Elector’s Age (Indicative)
- Relative Type
- Relative’s Full Name
- Captcha code
Then click Search
Your details will be displayed. Note them down carefully, as they will be required while filling out the SIR Enumeration Form.
Fill the Online SIR Enumeration Form
Visit https://voters.eci.gov.in/
From the homepage, click Fill Enumeration Form
Login using your EPIC Number or Mobile Number
Enter the details, fill in the Captcha, and click Request OTP
Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click Login
Select your State, enter your EPIC Number, and click Search
Your EPIC details will be displayed, including:
- Elector’s Name
- EPIC Number
- Serial Number
- Part Number and Name
- AC/PC Name
Ensure that the name on your Aadhaar exactly matches the name displayed in your EPIC details.
If the name does not match, the process cannot be completed online. You must contact your BLO to submit the form offline.
If the details match, enter your mobile number and click Send OTP
Enter the received OTP and click Verify OTP
You must select one of the following:
- My name exists in the Electoral Roll of the Last SIR
- My parents’ name (Father, Mother, Grandfather, Grandmother) exists in the Electoral Roll of the Last SIR
- Neither my name nor my parents’ name exists in the Electoral Roll of the Last SIR
If your voter ID did not exist in the last SIR (for example, if you were underage), the first option will automatically be disabled.
- If you select My name exists, enter the previously noted SIR details.
- If you select Parents/Relatives, enter their details from the last SIR and click Search.
Select the correct name from the results.
Tick mark on My relatives name exist in Electoral Roll and Click Continue.
Your registered mobile number will be displayed.
You must enter:
- Date of Birth (as per Voter ID in 2025)
- Aadhaar Number
- Father’s Name
- Father’s EPIC
- Mother’s Name
- Mother’s EPIC
- Spouse Name
- Spouse EPIC
- Place of Submission
Then, upload your passport-size photo. Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG — size less than 2 MB.
Scroll down the page and click Submit.
Complete e-Sign Using Aadhaar, Enter your Aadhaar Number, VID, or UID Token, then click Get OTP
Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
Tick Declaration
Click Submit
You will see a message confirming that your SIR Enumeration Form has been successfully submitted.
If you have multiple family members, you must complete separate SIR submissions for each person by repeating the same process.
