The Palak Mata-Pita Yojana is a thoughtful initiative by the Gujarat Government to secure the future of orphaned children by supporting their caregivers. By ensuring basic financial support and access to education, this scheme lays the foundation for a better and brighter future for thousands of children across the state.

Note: Many people mistakenly call the scheme “Balak Mata-Pita Yojana” (which translates to Child Parents Scheme), but the correct name is “Palak Mata-Pita Yojana”, where:

  • “Palak” means guardian or foster parent
  • “Mata-Pita” means mother and father

So, “Palak Mata-Pita Yojana” means Foster Parents Scheme — a scheme meant for guardians or close relatives who take care of orphaned children.
