The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of India to provide direct income support to farmers across the country. Initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on February 24, 2019, this scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden on farmers and ensure their welfare by supplementing their income for agricultural and allied activities as well as household needs.
PM Kisan Sam Man Nidhi Benefits
Under the PM Kisan Sam Man Nidhi Scheme, all eligible landholding farmers’ families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 per annum. This amount is disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, every four months. The objective is to provide farmers with timely support to meet various expenses related to farming and domestic needs.

Eligible Beneficiaries
Landholding Farmers: All farmers who have cultivable land in their names are eligible for the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme.
Exclusions
Certain categories of beneficiaries are excluded from receiving benefits under this scheme. These include:
Institutional Landholders: All such entities are not eligible | Specific Categories of Individuals: The following persons are excluded: Former and present holders of constitutional posts. Former and present Ministers, State Ministers, Members of Parliament (Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha), Members of State Legislative Assemblies/State Legislative Councils, and former/present Mayors of Municipal Corporations and Chairpersons of District Panchayats. Serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and its field units, Central or State Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) and Attached offices/Autonomous Institutions under Government, and regular employees of the Local Bodies (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees). Superannuated/retired pensioners with a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees). Persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year. Professionals such as Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with professional bodies and carrying out their profession by undertaking practices. |

- New Farmer Registration: Click on the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option on the homepage.
- Enter Aadhaar Number: Fill in your Aadhaar number and the captcha code, then click on the ‘Click here to continue’ button.
- Fill in the Details: Complete the registration form by entering your personal details, bank account information, and landholding details.
- Submit the Application: After filling in all the required information, submit the application.
- Verification: Your application will be verified by the respective authorities, and if found eligible, you will start receiving the benefits directly into your bank account.
