About Annabhagya Yojana
The Annabhagya scheme aims to eliminate hunger in Karnataka. It has been successful in achieving its mission by providing essential nutrients to people who have ration cards. These include rice, wheat, millet, maize, fortified edible oil, fortified salt, and pulses, which are given to ration cardholders either for free or at reduced prices.
The distribution of food grains through the Annabhagya scheme has had a positive impact on families. They now have more money to spend on other important things because they don’t have to buy food. The scheme also supports local farmers by purchasing coarse grains like millet, maize, and pulses from them at fair prices. This helps the farmers financially and encourages the production of local food.
